Year 2 - 12.1.24

Date: 12th Jan 2024 @ 3:48pm

Wow! What a busy week!

This week, we have been learning all about sentence types - statements, commands, questions and exlamations. The children have thought of many examples over the week.

Within maths, we have been working further with addition and subtraction. Homework is set to consolidate adding 1-digit and subtracting 1-digit.

This week, we have started our space topic, learning about Neil Armstrong. We have used the iPads and fact files to learn about Neil Armstrong, the first moon landing and what an astronaut needs to wear to survive in space.

Our spelling pattern this week is soft c. We have learnt that a c can be soft, like in mice or hard, like in cut. We have learnt that a c is soft if it comes before i, y or e.

Spellings for a test on Friday 19th January are...

city
race
price
notice
exercise
fancy
cycle
police

Thank you to parents who have emailed in to offer their support for our Chester Zoo trip. I will be emailing you all back today. We have had many volunteer offers.

Have a lovely weekend.
