Friday 18th November 2022 - Year 1

Date: 18th Nov 2022 @ 3:50pm

This week, we enjoyed a special assembly from Trent Water. We also worked on our sewing skills, sewing crowns for our Chester Cathedral Christmas tree ornaments. We can't wait to embellish them next week with buttons, sequins and jewels. In maths, we worked on our number bonds within 10, number bonds to 10 and adding two numbers together. Today, we added two numbers together by finger-painting on a tens frame! We enjoyed getting messy in maths.

In our writing lessons, we wrote a 'Found' poster for our little penguin in role as the boy. We have begun to join words and phrases using 'and'; we are getting better at them each lesson! Nativity practice is well under way; the children sound wonderful and love coming up with actions to our songs.

We said good luck to Miss Durham today as she embarks on a new adventure. Although she won't be in our classroom, we know we will still see her around school as she gets Clubhouse ready each evening.

Have a lovely weekend,

Year 1 Team
