Friday 26th January

Date: 26th Jan 2024 @ 5:39pm

Wow! What a busy week! In Literacy, we have been taking a type of bad weather e.g. snow, hail, storm and using our figurative language skill, we have created them into characters where we have thought about their actions and what they would look like.

In Maths, we have continued to look at ratio and proportion by looking at scale factors and similar shapes. We then ended the week by working out the proportions of ingredients needs when a recipe if the amount of people eating the meal changed.

In science, we began to look at the work of Carl Linnaeus and his international way of classifying animals which he developed in the 1700's.

We are all (staff included!) enjoying our class reader books 'When the Sky Falls' which is the basis of our guided reading sessions and is linking back to our topic of WW2 from last term. The children are able to apply their knowledge from our history topic to the different situations that happened within WW2.

Finally, a big thank you to all the parents who attended the KS2 SATs meeting this week, it was lovely to see you all!

Have a great weekend,

The Year 6 Team.
