This wee we have been exploring a new book called 'The Journey' about the difficulties faced by a refugee family and their stuggle to flee the war in their country. We have focused on looking at the feelings, thoughts and what they are saying for the characters in the book. We spent some time talking about how sometimes what we say does not reflect how we are feeling inside and how this can be seen within the mother. From this, we discovered that some people's job is to read new books, watch new films or play new video games and write a review about it. So we looked at some examples of good book reviews and wrote our own for 'The Journey'. In maths, we have been revisiting multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 to help support us with converting between different units of measurement. However, the highlight of the week was planning, making and eating our own national loaves! We had great fun kneading and stretching our dough and even had some great feedback on the taste of the bread! Well done!
