What a wonderful few days back in school! Year 6 have settled in well and made a fantastic start to the year, rising to every challenge set for them.

This week, we created our class charter together and identified what we need to do as a team to have a successful year together. We came up with some key expectations for within the classroom and discussed the children's expectations of the staff too.

We have begun our Maths topic of place value, identifying the value of digits within a 7-digit number. In Literacy, we looked at the purpose of an autobiography and identified the key features required before writing our own. This has been a lovely way to get to know the children and their lives so far.

We even managed to fit in our first lessons of Art, PE and Computing which were enjoyed by everyone.

A wonderful first few days getting to know Year 6. I can already tell we are going to have an excellent year.

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Poland
