Welcome back from our short break.

It was lovely to hear the children chatting about their holiday as I met them in the corridor and at break time earlier in the week.

This week, we have had a whole-school focus on plastic pollution. We have discussed the pros and cons of plastic, been on a plastic hunt, written facts about plastic and created catchy slogans for protest signs. Some of these included:

Plastic is not cool!

Up with biodegrading, down with plastic!

Save our animals!

We also practised our D.T skills ready for making moving pictures next week. We made a leaf attached to a pivot, a bug on a slider and the four seasons on a wheel. The children loved this activity and we can't wait to see them apply these skills to their own designs!

Can I thank Miss Holgate for preparing all the phonics packs placed in the children’s bags today and also Mrs Hayes and Miss Wooldridge who have ensured the children have received new books and packs during my absence from school today.  Hopefully some better weather will start to rid the bugs we have all been encountering!

Please can all children have a labelled bottle of water in school.
