Year 1 Blog-2nd Feb 2024

I apologise regarding the delay to this week’s blog, however our School Spider was not working later on after school on Friday. 

What an amazing end to the week.  We have completed the most impressive collages this afternoon, worked as a team and tidied up the whole room!

We finally got to the end of our book, 'The Lion Inside', only to find out that the mighty lion is scared of the tiniest creature.... a mouse! They became best friends in the end though. We look forward to writing the story ourselves next week!

In maths, we've worked hard on number lines and finding 1 more and 1 less within 20.  We will be completing our shape unit next week and trying to ensure all children can remember the names of the 2D and 3D shapes.  This is new vocabulary to some so any opportunity to use it would be really beneficial.

For our computing work, the BeeBots came back to our class and we enjoyed navigating them across tables to our friends. Sometimes, they don't always do what we want them to so we have to debug and make changes to our commands. 

Our Thursday football sessions are going really well, please can I remind you that all children need to come to school in their outdoor kits on this day.
