Year 3 - 2.1.24

Date: 1st Feb 2024 @ 4:27pm

It has been another fantastic week in Year 3 with our learning. I have particularly enjoyed watching the children develop their teamwork skills during our jigsaw lesson this week where they've finished the design phase of their gardens, I am sure if you ask them, they can tell you if they were the landscaper, team leader or budget.

In literacy we planned and wrote our letters to our grandson. For context we had to pretend we were Grandad whale in the book 'This morning I met a whale' by Michael Morpurgo; as we discovered that the bottlenose whale swimming down the river Thames had an important message for him. It was great to see the children actively using their plans on the Tuesday and Thursday during the writing phase.

In maths we are coming towards the end of our multiplication and division topic. It would be great if the children could continue to practise their bus stop and column multiplication at home. If they do decide to complete some extra work at home, please send it in to the year 3 email or to school.
