Year 3 - 26.1.24

Date: 26th Jan 2024 @ 4:34pm

We've had another busy week in year 3. Earlier in the week we looked at multiplying a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number and crossing 10, there were some tricky questions but the children managed to work them out. Towards the end of the week, we learnt about the bus stop method when dividing a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number with no remainders.

In literacy we have continued learning about blue whales, I am sure the children enjoyed learning about the wonderful Sir David Attenborough, they even had a go at pretending to be him as they narrated a text. Today we looked at the importance of using an exclamation sentence correctly.

In History we looked at roman numerals. If you want to listen to the song at home this is a link to the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1UmAgekzbs

We took what we learnt and drew the roman numerals on a hop-scotch outside using chalk. Next week we will look at creating clocks which contain roman numerals to help us tell the time.
