Year 3 - 8.12.23

Date: 7th Dec 2023 @ 1:34pm

I feel like this week has gone by so quickly! This week has been full of frosty ideas, as in English, we finished our end-of-unit write based on Winter's Child. The children have drafted, edited, and published their final pieces, and I will be uploading a picture of our display on Twitter at some point next week. In math, we have been learning about arrays and the 3x table; we even try to apply our newly acquired knowledge into problem-solving style questions. Also, the children have been busy working alongside Year 4 and 5 to practice their production; the songs are coming along nicely. Mr Hutchinson even commented on how amazing it was to see all of Year 3 knowing their lines for the show. I look forward to you seeing it next week.

A challenge for the children this week, can you work out which animal I am descrbing (it has a festive theme):

This special animal has a majestic set of antlers on its head, which it uses to navigate through its snowy surroundings. Its fur is thick and brown, providing excellent insulation against the cold. You might often find it in artic tundra, and it's known for its association with a certain jolly season. Additionally, it is often seen pulling a sleigh loaded with gifts for children around the world. What magical creature could this be?
