Year 5 - 5.1.24

Welcome back and Happy New Year!

It's been an absolute pleasure getting back to school with such an enthusiastic class. The children have settled back in to school brilliantly and all have worked their socks off!

This week, we have been focusing on 'The Journey', a book all about refugees. The children have enjoyed listening to this heart-breaking story about a family who have had to flee their country due to war. We have written some poetry based on Edgar Allan Poe's 'The Raven' and also dabbled in writing our own free verse poems about our most precious item we would take with us. The children have loved presenting these in class. 

It's been a great beginning to 2024 and the children should be proud of their hard work already shining through.
