Hello everyone,
Welcome to Year 5! We are very exicited to welcome you back to school and hear about your summer adventures!
Please find below some information about this year and have a look at our termly newsletter below.
Staffing:
Mr Hutchinson will be teaching on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Mr Gough will be teaching on Mondays and Tuesdays. We will be supported by Mrs Johnson throughout the week.
Things to Bring:
We will make sure that all equipment for learning is available at school. If your child would like to, they can bring in a sensible pencil case with any additional colouring pencils or pens they would like to use on special occasions that we can leave in our bags until they are needed. We will continue to use the school pens for writing in class. Children are advised to also bring a water bottle in to keep on their tables. Please come to school with a waterproof coat every day.
PE
PE in Year 5 will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Children will need to continue to come into school in their uniform everyday, as they did in Year 4. They will require a PE kit to be kept in school at all times. The kit will need to consist of: a plain (or logoed) light blue PE top, plain navy shorts, a pair of trainers or pumps.
Depending on the time of year children may also need a pair of joggers to be brought in for outdoor PE. On PE days, children will be able to wear their sports hoodies instead of their jumpers if they have them.
Homework, Diaries and Spellings
Homework will be set on Fridays and will be expected to be returned on the following Thursday unless otherwise discussed. Children will come home with their Reading and Homework Diaries which will contain their homework and spelling patterns that they will be learning in school. There will be a space for parents to write a comment if they choose to do so. Please ensure that your child brings in their homework diaries into school every day (the best place to keep them is in their bag!).
