Our Vision for EYFS
At Mickle Trafford Village School, we are passionate about providing every child with the very best start to their learning journey. We nurture curious minds and foster a lifelong love of learning by providing a stimulating, engaging environment that is tailored to the needs of each unique child. We prioritise high-quality interactions that create meaningful learning experiences and establish the strong foundations needed for future success.
Our carefully designed curriculum inspires children, prepares them for future learning and immerses them in a language-rich environment. We believe that strong home-school partnerships are essential and value every opportunity to celebrate our children, helping them to become happy, confident learners who feel a strong sense of belonging within our school community.
To discover more about our Reception class, please explore the documents available to download below. Our EYFS Long-Term Plan demonstrates how our curriculum is carefully planned to meet the requirements of the EYFS Statutory Framework, while also showing how we utilise high-quality schemes of learning alongside purposeful child-initiated learning to ensure a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum.
You will also find documents that demonstrate how our EYFS curriculum links directly to the National Curriculum, highlighting how the knowledge, skills and experiences children develop in Reception provide the foundations for future learning as they progress through school.
In addition, our Progression in Play documents outline how play develops across the year and provide examples of how adults carefully support and extend children's learning within continuous provision through high-quality interactions, thoughtfully planned environments and rich vocabulary experiences.
