Year 1 - 16th September 2022

This week, we have really got into the swing of Year 1. We received a parcel in the post containing our new English text, The Jolly Postman, and began our writing unit by making predictions and choosing adjectives to describe nouns. In maths, we looked at representing numbers and counting from a larger group. We loved using Google Earth to compare Chester and Mickle Trafford and discussed the features of a city versus a village. I have been really impressed by the children's independence each morning when arriving at school - each day, they get faster at their morning routine! Our active starts to the day continue to be a success and ensure that we all start our learning with huge smiles!
