Year 1 blog

Date: 3rd May 2024 @ 4:26pm

This week, we have enjoyed exploring numbers 20-50 further. We have represented numbers in their tens and ones using dienes and worked hard to draw these neatly in our maths books! In writing, we wrote a letter as Hoctopize to apologise for stealing toys from around the world.

In our computing lessons, we have begun to type a lost poster for one of the toys missing in our story. We are working on using a capital letter and a full stop, digitally.

PE has been very exciting with different opportunities to catch objects including balloons, cloths, quoits and tiny fluffy balls.  Some of our children represented Year 1 at cricket and we all had an amazing session with Year 3 learning two new games.

We have started to make reusable bags using our very own tie-dye designs.  We can’t wait for you to see them.

We have had some warm weather this week. Please send children to school with a named cap/ hat and a named water bottle.

Have a lovely extended weekend.
