This week in Year 1, we had the best surprise - Miss Wooldridge visited us with baby Marley. The children loved welcoming him to Mickle Trafford, as did all the staff. In maths, we practsied counting on from a given number and even counting backwards! Next week, we look forward to using this knowledge to explore 1 more, 1 less and using 'fewer' 'more' 'same' to compare numbers to 10. In our writing lessons, we wrote an invitation to Baby Bear for Goldilock's party and predicted where the Jolly Postman will go to next. We introduced our focus artist for the term, Van Gogh, and looked at using emojis to express how we feel when we look at a piece of his art. We also explored colour mixing. Freddy Teddy had a week off and is looking forward to his next adventure on Monday!
