Year 5 - Friday 23rd September

Date: 23rd Sep 2022 @ 2:31pm

This has been a bit of a different week due to the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. We started our week on Tuesday with Mrs Gent. In Science, we learnt how to read thermometres and we conducted an experiment to investigate different thermal insulators such as fabric, card and tin foil. We found that fabric was the best thermal insulator. Surprisingly, card insulators had no effect compared to our control.

We have, throughout the week, looked at descriptive writing and using subordinate clauses in our English sessions. In Maths, we have practised rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000 with a bit of active maths and ordered numbers to 1 million! We finished off the week with a good PE session practising pocket passes and pop passes in tag rugby.

Have a good weekend!
